The Nursing Show

Caffeine is a stimulant found in common everyday drinks such as coffee, cola softdrinks, tea and energy drinks. Because of its stimulating effects, people consume caffeinated drinks for an energy boost. However, if taken in large amounts overtime, caffeine overdoses can occur. In this week’s episode of the Nursing Show, podcast host Jamie Davis provides a toxicology segemnt on caffeine overdoses with Lisa Booze of the Maryland Poison Center. They discuss common signs and symptoms of caffeine overdose as well as what to do and who to call for help in case of an overdose. Also in the show are links to news items and links for follow up.
