Nurse Safety and Job Security

This week’s episode of Insights in Nursing, the show for nurses, by nurses has another great panel including Cora Vizcarra from the blog and Paul Bond host of the Emergency Nursing Today podcast. The panel guests join host Jamie Davis from the Nursing Show to talk about news from the world of nurses and health care.

Work place safety for health care facilities is the first topic covered on the show. With the recent events including the shooting at Johns Hopkins hospital and the beating of a New York psychiatric nurse. Are RNs and others deluding themselves about the safety of their jobs?

Second on the agenda this week is a chat about a nurse who is fired from her job after an off-hand comment to a police officer during a traffic stop. Should he have called her hospital to complain, should her bosses have even listened, and why was she fired for this incident? Listen to our nurse panelists and their take on these stories in this episode.
