Patients coming in to the ED exhibiting symptoms of possible toxicological causes should be carefully assessed to determine which substance or chemical is responsible for toxicity. Toxidromes are collections of symptoms which as a whole is reflective of a substance causing it. The discussion includes the types of toxidromes commonly seen and the signs and symptoms defining each toxidrome.
